If you look on the church signboard, that should give you a contact number, you could enquire whether they are in the process of producing any booklets with the history of the Well, or you could suggest they may like to do so.
Considering the name of the village is Holystone, it's likely the Well was much more ancient and was incorporated, whereas the fate of the stone after which the village is named appears to be a mystery - at least inasmuch as it's not shown on our list of nearby sites! Perhaps it's within the church's curtilage and has been carved into a cross or it could be in the actual building.
