I was told that the name for this stone is a "deal stone".
As stated, two people sealed an agreement by shaking hands through the hole in the stone.
This is where the term "It's a deal" comes from.
Wolverhampton was a market town at one stage.
The main fare was sheep and wool. This stone would have been used by merchants and traders at these markets.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
