Yes unfortunately the hall being very long and thin didn't really lend itself to talks to that number of people, we had to borrow a screen and it wasn't set up for doing a blackout. Things started off OK but then as the sun set behind the hall it got progressively worse.
Sound wise it was difficult to project the sound down the long thin hall without being too loud at the front. I had been carefully controlling the sound for the other talks to be as loud as possible without feeding back, which I know wasn't very loud at the back. Of course once mine came on there was no one to do this. Someone said 'turn it up' which I should have resisted doing. I was somewhat exhausted and engrossed in my talk and didn't think to stop and correct the sound... I hope people enjoyed it anyway.
We could have hired somewhere with a proper 'conference' type setup but it wouldn't have been the same. The question now is where we go next to follow that. There aren't many places with a hall and a prehistoric wonder right next door.
