Re: Mystery of the Hanging Bowls by Thorgrim on Sunday, 13 March 2005

Perhaps when the Dark Age Portal starts we should include an article on origins! Scotland was Pictish, Ireland was Scottish, Wales was British and only became Welsh when England became English! The whole business of commercial Celtic twaddle infuriates me. The indigenous British people - our incredibly gifted ancestors with their wonderful art, culture, music, literature, myths, legends, imagination etc etc - deserve a name of their own, not one borrowed by mistake from Austria. The textbooks of my youth got it right - they were the Ancient Britons (not always painted bright blue though!)

PS. Whisper it not to the French, but the Franks came from a part of Germany just east of the Rhine!

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
