This represents the illogical transport policy of the irish government. All of these proposed new motorways are directed towards dublin to enhance the commuter belt. Of course, there don't seem to be any credible suggestions for dealing with the increased congestion inside dublin, which these new roads will undoubtably make worse. In its march towards 'progress', ireland seems determined to surrender itself to ugly urban sprawl.
