So we have another candidate for the origin of the Noah's Flood story? Very interesting. I like the bit about us being "partly cavemen". The implication seems to be that only Homo Neanderthalis, and not Homo Sapiens, lived in caves. Here in the English Midlands there were people (definitely Hom. Sap.) living in caves right up to the 1950s. At Kinver, west of Birmingham, I even saw the rotting remains of window frames and curtains at cave dwelling windows in the 1970s! One of the dwellings has now been restored as a tourist attraction.
