Damn right anon - the Bull Ring is sensational. I visited it for the first time 2 weeks ago in the dark and was blown away with it's atmosphere (even so close to houses, A6 etc). I have visited hundreds of ancient sites in Derbyshire and have always avoided the Bull Ring because of what I have read about it's state of preservation (I really thought it would upset me) - how wrong I was. This henge needs love from all us meganaughts (trademark pending on that new word). I'm going to call in again tomorrow afternoon and I am sure it will amaze me once again. I am excited just to think about it. I always take neolithic stone axes (obsessive collector) with me to ancient sites and this one made them tingle. More than most. The 6500yo serpentine point butted axes I sat in the middle may have been the first stone axes to visit this site since it was part of the Langdale axe trail . . .
Let's stand up for our Derbyshire heritage and try to get something done about this mighty henge. Post back if you fancy starting a war. I'm armed (with stone axes) and fully up for it. I know of others that will join us.
