I used to live in Horsenden Lane North, went to the now demolished infants and junior school there,ok it has been rebuilt now. Had great fun in the fields and on Horsenden Hill as a nipper. Found a huge air raid shelter at the foot of Horsenden Hill, older friends had got wind of it and dug it out! Soon the council came along and sadly filled the lot with concrete, the main entrance and all the hatches capped. Up the road the Ballot Box pub, further still, the remains of the original pub after it was bombed in WWII across the other side of the road was mosaic tiled flooring from a house that once stood there.
