Re: Review: How the SunGod Reached America by Anonymous on Tuesday, 16 July 2002

I appreciate the fairness of the authors' comments. We differ on some points, but Dr. de Jonge was correct in assessing that my criticism was not that the premise was wrong, but that the form and methods of the book did not make it possible for even an open-minded reader to make a judgement about it. I am willing to consider the idea, or any idea presented with full explanations and research to back up its assertions. If the numbers fit the theory, that proves only that the numbers fit the theory. I cannot draw from that all the other things you propose. Without research backing them up, the other conclusions seem like speculation.
I would not say these things if I did not think that many readers will see it the same way. If you satisfy these criteria in your next book I guarantee you a more receptive audience. I wish you well. I welcome opportunities to see things in new ways.
I do not post personal information on the site, but Mr. Wakefield has my email address and either author may contact me if he likes.
