I'm surprised no-one's commented on how it feels as though you're in someone's garden when you visit this site with its manicured lawns and leylandii hedging. Considering how it's been landscaped, it's wonderful to discover its atmosphere hasn't been affected.

There's a very good display in the museum in Kenmare which gives the history of the site and has an interactive display which shows lots of alignments. It's worth a visit too.
