I wonder how many people would agree with you. "Wauluds Bank"? Never heard of it and what has it got to do with Stonehenge anyway?
Julius Caesar may have fought the Celts in Europe, but he didn't fight them at Ravensburgh or anywhere else in Britain because the people of Britain have never been Celtic. Caesar must have watered his horses at very many places - are they all second to Stonehenge? He may have watered his horses on the banks of the River Lea, but does that make it an historic site second only to Stonehenge? Point is that all too often, people claim Stonehenge as a comparison - Thornborough is the Stonehenge of the North - so is Callanish and now we have Stonehenge of the Lea Valley! I do not "belittle the efforts of local people to improve local awareness of our history etc" On the contrary - I encourage it and will publish reviews on the Portal. Reviews will be objective and as positive as possible - but we will shoot down what we perceive to be extravagant claims.
