Anonymous, yes, but that philosophy can hide the works of man from us. We should look closely and use the same criteria in determining whether something is man-made that we would use in Europe, Asia, or the Middle East. There is an assumption that pre-European Americans were "primitive" and didn't do certain things, and that often blinds people to works that anywhere else would be considered cultural.
