So true. I have seen a number of stones at sites that show evidence of subtle stone-working (especially precisely-placed eyes on animal-head-shaped boulders). Yet few archaeologists have been willing to concede that this was a common practise among the eastern woodland Indians in North America. I look forward to more discoveries like this as time goes on.
