Butterdon Hill Stone Circle, Butterdon Hill, Dartmoor, Devon SX656588
The remains of the fantastic Butterdon Hill stone row run for nearly 2 kilometres across the moor in a roughly northerly direction from Butterdon Hill. The row starts at a cairn, which is situated just downslope to the north of the largest cairn on the hilltop. The cairn is the usual mass of stones with a hollowed out middle, about 8 metres in diameter. However, outside the remains of the cairn lies a ring of large fallen slabs, which once must have made an impressive ring.
