Thank you very much Mike. I've waited so long for a reply to this question, and hope that you may be able to back me up on my theory. To be honest, I'd not noticed it before either, but taking the photo from that angle on that occasion showed the indentation I christened the 'vulva-mark' so clearly.
If this were to be proved, that they were 'male' and 'female' stones, it would make so much sense.
(Also, the inverted 'V' on Stonehenge's Stone 16, the sarsen at SW of the circle....? You can click on the link in the article to see that one.)
