My father had a PhD from an Ivy League University Theological College, and became Dean and Vice-President of a College in PA for some 30-odd years. His Doctoral thesis was an interpretation of the "Book of Revlation of John".
I read the book. I read what my father wrote. I believe John, isolated on the island of Ptamos (sp?) was hallucinating and his writings were overwhelming to those Christians who 'wanted to believe' so much that they would believe ANYTHING!
Even the ravings of an hallucinating hermit.
That's what I think.
