The Ness of Burgi is a beautiful spot, a narrow peninsula thrusting southward into the sea. Access may faze some nervous nellies--it's necessary to clamber over a narrow rocky ridge, but a chain railing is provided, and it isn't really very difficult. Other than that, it's an easy stroll across gently rolling land. The fort (or "block house", as it is sometimes called) is interesting, of course, but it's the setting, virtually surrounded by water, that makes this site's atmosphere.
