Visited Gop Hill on July 19, in rainy weather. Took the southern approach route described above by "Anonymous", which is not very obvious but much easier than going through the wood from thr east! A most impressive and atmospheric site, especially in the rain. The pock-marked summit suggests that people have excavated the mound in the past, perhaps looking for buried "treasure".
