I agree on the first programme also - the first half was definite 'shout at the TV' material, not a good sign. Tune in half way through and you won't have missed anything.
I think the weather would have been too bad to fly a helicopter, plus very expensive to hire one for 3 days in the middle of nowhere I expect, so this second episode was more believable.
I noticed the blanked out logos as well - too bad as I was hoping to wear a megalithic.co.uk T-Shirt to the forthcoming Butser Hill Seahenge reconstruction session :-)
