Yemeni antiquities indicate oldest human presence in Arabian Peninsula
A French archeological mission has found at an archaeological site of a rock cave in Mahweet province more than 5000 pieces of antiquities date back over 75,000 years and
indicate the oldest human presence in the Arabian Peninsula.
Deputy director general of Archaeologies Department in the province Mohammed Rajeh said that the found antiquities were spears, axes, knives and various tools, "all made of stone".
Rajeh added that the archaeological pieces were being maintained by the Archaeologies Department to document and show them later in the regional museum of antiquities and mummies in al-Tayilah city of Mahweet.
