Interesting article, but Totterdowns, Toots and Tots being ancient names from Tara and Taran's duns? I don't think so. If true, we can claim as much for Tottenham, Totteridge, Tooting, Totnes and so on. The accepted view is that these place names are Saxon and were settled by the followers of leaders called Totta and Tata.
