The ArchData service search website and EH pastscape record both regard it as a Medieval Motte and Bailey though I can't find any reference to excavations to prove or disprove this assumption furthermore hillforts are always in there finished state so there is no reason why it could be a prehistoric site turned into medieval (hope its ok to post EH links) Conger Hill
