Actually met the bloke who is archaeological advisor to the show, who seems like a very academically sound and principalled bloke. Very keen on stressing that this was archaeology that would otherwise never get done, and that all results are published in peer reviewed journals (in contrast to time team!). However, unfortunately this does not guarantee that the programme will be any different than is described above !!! What a shame that potentially interesting subjects are presented in a way that is insulting to our intelligences!
