Re: Donegal's "High Kings" by Anonymous on Tuesday, 02 October 2007

This should be an interesting excersise of bragging rights for Irelands West Coast population, and I wonder who will be called the First "High Kings", which dynasty ? exactly what time period ? and how can he prove they came from Donegal?
Since the name Dun na nGall/i.e Donegal means the "fort of foreigners" will he be referring to the Milesians. i.e. the dynasties of Hebor and Heremon, from Iberia? or the preceding Tuatha De Danainn ? or the even earlier Fir Bolg, or according to Tom O'Connor's Fir Belg at Feis Temhro (Turoe, Galway) ?
This will prove to be a lively debate !!!
