Unfortunately, I do not think the above directions are correct. The excavation of this site was carried out by South Yorkshire Archaeological Service, 1992 and M. Parker Pearson, 1998. The reports give the map reference very accurately:- SE 5269 0196. This is in the NE corner of Scabba Wood not far from the Melton Road. It was a Middle Neolithic site yielding pottery and bones dated to 4500 years before present.

I checked the woods today and they are private property with clear "No Entry" signs.

Just north of this is Long Cairn, just to the north of the Melton Road. This chamber ed cairn is also called "King Hengist Rein". It is also unaccessible, appearing to be in the grounds of a private house.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
