I think it's do-able by public transport via the Coastliner bus from Leeds and/or York... and you can get to Goathland by the steam railway from Pickering I think? (Not checked it out yet)...
Saturday.
Meet around 10:30 in Malton.

A visit to Malton Museum and Priory; `Malton Museum has just been refurbished and the Roman etc displays improved... And there's the Priory in Old Malton, really weird tree in the grounds and some pagan Roman carvings inside. Worth seeing.'
Aiming to be at Malton Priory for 11:15 am.
Meet between 12:30 and 1:30 in the lay-by at the Hole of Hor*****, for a walk around this massive, strange hole in the ground, said to be created by the giant Wade. Walk distance and sites visited tba.
(Foul weather alternative: Whitby museum - excellent displays of rock-art and a `Hand of Glory').
This walk will be led by John Billingsley.
End of the afternoon: arrive at Goathland and settle in! (Tents pitched, B & Bs occupied.).
Gentle patronage of the local hostelries predicted in the evening.
Sunday.
A walk visiting some of the archaeological sites and rock-art uncovered by the fire several years ago on Fylingdales Moor.
This walk will be led by Graeme Chappell.
Meet on the Ravenscar side of the Fylingdale moors. There is a parking area on the edge of the moor, opposite the radio mast on Stoupe Brow. From here you can look down into Robin Hoods Bay and walk straight out on to the moors.
Follow the main roads towards Ravenscar, but about a mile before the village, there is a sharp right bend in the road. A minor road carries straight on at this bend and leads up to the radio mast, which can be seen half a mile ahead. This minor road is shown on the AA road map and is shown heading down towards the bay.

It is likely there will be impromptu walks during the afternoon. Be prepared to improvise!
A visit to the crypt at Lastingham Church is also planned for the end of the day. The crypt contains some stunning Anglo-Danish carvings, hogsback tomb covers and is a very atmospheric place...
