Re: Dogmersfield Stones - Hants by Anonymous on Sunday, 27 May 2007

Hi I can't tell you anything about the stones as nobody I've asked seems to know however there are three stones along the lane, 2 on the west side and another one on the east side. There is also another stone in the woods on the east side set about 30 yards from the lane only really visble in the winter.

At the Barley Mow end of the lane are what look like broken stones set at the edge of the road. The stones are certainly not local, they look like marlborough down stone they may have been brought by the canal or may be connected to the original dogmerfield house which lies beyond the end of spratts hatch lane.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
