I see what you mean Andy. that pic was taken using a graduated filter and probably didn't go any where near photoshop. Its result is turnin the image quite 'plasticky' !! I have been using photoshop for about 7 years and actualy i find it very usefull (apart from the following which is a fine example of my own overkill).
