Re: Spring 2007 Photo Competition Winners by Andy B on Wednesday, 02 May 2007

Please don't anyone feel 'got at' by the controversy over photo enhancement or manipulation. My intention has been to raise awareness and debate of the subject.

What I hate personally is artificial over-saturation of colours, especially false orangey sunsets, which can be applied without any skill on the part of the photographer. (In saying this I'm not pointing the finger at anyone who posts here by the way.)

By way of example, my most hated photo would be this old chestnut of Stonehenge through a graduated filter which seems to crop up everywhere. It is the popularity of this ghastly photo that got me going on this.

I was also most taken by some discussions I had with photographer Max Milligan, of which more here: http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/aburnham/book/reviewmilligan.htm

Cheers
Andy
