Re: Irelands Shame : A Superhighway Across The Hill of Tara by Anonymous on Thursday, 22 February 2007

News/reality of this type is terrible! I live in Canada where most of my known family is from Cape Breton who originally come from Ireland. I'm currently researching my history and family tree where information is hard enough to find, not to mention seeing or experiencing a link to my past. History in the physical lanscape is extremely important from many perspectives. I feel like I'm trying to put together a puzzle that's missing many pieces already.

If this destruction for progress occurs, it will be the beginning of a history which becomes legend giving rise to myth if allowed.

A "Superhighway Across The Hill of Tara" is no way to preserve historical tangible history for future generations. Destruction in the form of history containing significant meaning should not even be a consideration. It should not be tolerated.

There is no feeling in the world than learning something new of the "Old" where one steps into actual history and says to himself/herself, "Wow, I can't believe this is the very spot that . . ." this applies to everything with significant meaning which there is not much left of in this world.
