From a slightly different angle, Michael Eavis and the Glastonbury Festival has over the years been able to put together a package that involves all groups involved; this includes local people, council, police and the people who attend the festival, so it should'nt be too difficult to do the same for Avebury. Surely if people want to worship at the stones they should also be prepared to police the bad behaviour at the stones, a sort of guardian role setting out the nature of what is permissable.
I'd take issue with one fact though, that people have always worshipped at the stones over thousands of year. There is a distinct time gap between what happened at Avebury 4000 years ago, and what is happening today......
Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
