Re: Luccombe Down by RingPaw on Friday, 03 November 2006

Collection of around 10 barrows (as marked on OS Outdoor Leisure map 29), spread over about half a kilometre high on the ridge of Luccombe Down. The main grouping is to the south, near to the small road and car park - these are smaller barrows, but two larger exist to the north on the bridleway that runs the length of the ridge. Fantastic 360 degree views including the South Downs and English Channel; the Downs form a spectacular horseshoe here. Easy access for the less-abled, or use leg power up the mega-steep road to the nearby radar station if you want to feel you've earned it (I speak from experience of being in both categories).

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
