My name is Siegrid Keschnat Bown. I live in Columbus, Ohio, USA. But - much of my childhood days were spent in Marienborn. My grandparents name was Karl und Lina Schoendube. I loved to roam the woods surrounding the village. They were my playground. I visited the area of the "Reauberhoele" often and remember the "gruselig Gefuehl" I felt there. I have wonderful memories of those days including many not so wonderful memories of the time after the division of Germany when my mother would take my sister and myself and cross the border illegally just so we could be "home" with our grandparents.
