There are many renditions of the Big Dipper in the Americas, many contain the supernova events that caused the shape to go from grid to dipper some 20,000 years ago. Not surprising to find the same events in China. Is there a way for people from other countries to compare pictures and notes on these kinds of carvings to push the dates back to before the Supernova? It would be interesting. Indigenous Americans were great at Star Knowledge. There are some in Hawaii as well. The ones in the Southwest I think are most interesting are at the same latitude as Los Angeles, but inland in a mountain range and in the middle of a desert that was a huge duck marsh during the supernova event before the change in shape from grid to dipper.

PS the depressions hold water and the stars line up in them at certain times. You can date the carving by how far off one or more stars are today when the others line up. Fine a local astronomer or astrophysicist.
