I am just crazy about the prehistoric sites and we have visited quite a few in France. But when it comes to paintings such as those at CHAUVET CAVE, I wonder if this is all true. When you think about these people who are supposed to have painted these horses, they were under pressure all the time, not knowing if they would survive another day... not getting much sleep I suppose and fighting for a living. How could these disturbed populations make painting so nice, so colorful, so lively and so beautiful comparable to the contempory works. . . . . . .I wonder . . . .
