I have recently found something unusual nearby at Mapledurwell: three large boulders (each in a different property, ruling out a farmer moving sarcens to the side, or other organised clearance). There was a Priory nearby, and so they could be reused from that site (but reused for what?)... the stones are about two feet in diameter, and 18 ins to 2 feet showing above ground. They are all within 20 yards of the central crossroads (on the side of the river) in Mapledurwell, Hampshire. It is definitely a former stone circle!
If I want to check it with English Heritage as per comments above, how do I submit the grid reference - by email? - or is there a central site? Or do I phone?
Cheers
