CharcoalBurner89 visited on 17th Jan 2021 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 3 The biggest problem is that all ways to the grave are overgrown or no longer exist. Sometimes you even come across signs in the forest that show you nonexistent paths. It's best to rely on your GPS to find it.

The NE single orthostat on the short side is in situ. There are 4 orthostats of the NW long side still in position, 5 on the opposite. Passage grave in Lower Saxony

Passage grave built of 7 orthostats on each long side in NE-SW orientation.
The NE single orthostat on the short side is in situ.
There are 4 orthostats of the NW long side still in position,
5 on the opposite. (According to Sprockhoff's text)
Nowadays it seems that you can see the tips of one
more orthostat on each side.
Remains of most likely a former capstone are resting
in the chamber. More remains of former capstones are
scattered around the tomb.
There are also remains of an enclosure and a short passage.

A case for the German administrators of the site:
The "Ostereistedt Steingrab" is a passage grave and not a chambered tomb. The relevant literature from the offical responsible archologist Dr. Tempel describes the large stone grave as a passage grave.

    Thanks for your input. The category has been specified accordingly. While this certainly is generally speaking a "chambered tomb", the more specific way to refer to it indeed is "Passage grave". This is a very old database entry hence the currently used database categories might have not been available back then.
