Schwaneberg Dolmen
Schwaneberg Dolmen submitted by Boeddel : The chamber is aligned in line with the sunset at the winter solstice. But the weather report says clouds and probably rain for December 21st. That's why I was there today because the winter weather is just beautiful and perfect now. In addition, the sun sets in almost exactly the same direction today as it did in 4 days on the winter solstice. Photo by Bøddel 17/12-2022 (Vote or comment on this photo)
A burial chamber in Brandenburg. The chamber measures 2.5m by 1m and is aligned north east to south west so in line with the sunrise at the summer solstice and the sunset at the winter solstice. But the weather report says clouds and probably rain for December 21st so I was there today because the winter weather is just beautiful and perfect now, and the sun sets in almost exactly the same direction today as it will do in four days on the winter solstice.

Four burial mounds probably from the Bronze Age are right next to the Schwaneberg Dolmen. These are also pictured, and see our nearby sites list below for more.

Schwaneberg Dolmen submitted by weldersdog- : A stunning neolithic landscape with a wide view in all directions. This place is special. Solstice alingments from the orientation of the chamber are adding to the magic of this place. The ambience is 5 plus! 20.12.2024
