Negrounder visited on 14th May 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 3 Classic promontory fort. Takes advantage of a very narrow neck across which the earthworks are built. Said to be 3 earth banks, with ditches on their northern (landward) side. I could only discern two banks and two ditches - the northernmost one is said to be slight, and was not easily found under bracken. The middle and southern ramparts and ditches are impressive. My estimate was up to 5m elevation of rampart, and 2-3m max depth of ditch. A very neat example in pretty good condition and only obviously threatened by bracken.
