Ta' Marziena
Ta' Marziena submitted by enkidu41 : This ruined temple has never been properly explored and most of the surviving megalithic blocks are either built into modern field walls or covered by carob and prickly pear trees (which, believe me, you do not want to mess with!). This shot is of the most accessible surviving wall which has been incorporated into a modern field wall. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This temple site on Gozo has never been properly explored and the many visible standing megalithic blocks are either built into field walls or partly covered by carob and prickly pear trees.

Curvilinear wall alignments can be recognised and a long semi-elliptical stretch of wall with an east-facing open side. A group of stones within the central area suggest the shape of one or two apses of the temple. Sherds found lying on the soil surface can be dated from the Ggantija and Tarxien phases of temple building.
