Cist in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg
The stone cist was discovered in 1937 during excavations for a new building in Hamburg-Sülldorf (Address of the location: Baumweg No. 16). At this point, the capstones were already missing and the ground paving of the cist was torn up. The cist was empty at the time of its discovery. Due to the rather poor state of preservation, a chronological classification is difficult. The age can be estimated at around 2000 to 1000 BC and dated to the Bronze Age.
Today the cist is no longer in Hamburg-Sülldorf and has been moved to Hamburg-Iserbrook. An information board next to it provides information about the history of the discovery.
