Barrow Cemetery in Kazakhstan
Real name for this site/locality not known, but it is either side of the Almaty-Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) road, 11km west of the village of Targan and about 100km west of Almaty.
A large dispersed barrow cemetery or a landscape with a huge number (100+) of barrows in. All sizes of barrows from very small 4+metres across to large 40??+metres across. The barrows are surrounded by arable fields, most have been ploughed right upto, some ploughed over and probably many barrows ploughed out.
The position given is a point on the road you can see some of the barrows from.
