Cave or Rock Shelter in Montenegro
One of Europe's most important Paleolithic sites. Continuously occupied from 180,000 years ago (by the Neanderthals) until the Iron Age. It's the longest record of unbroken occupation on the continent (a total of 20 cultural layers were discovered). There are no artefacts left on site, but you can view some in the museum in Podgorica. The site is fenced off, but the gate is usually open.
