Modern site in Honshū

This temple situated in a mountain valley at the western edge of Yamaguchi city has a pond garden with rocks. This garden is rumoured that a painter monk Sesshū (1420-1506) built, and the modern gardener Mirei SHIGEMORI (1896-1975) reconstructed in 1957.

Open 8:00-17:00 all year around, admission 200 Japanese Yen (2024 price).

Official site in Japanese.
