Pyramid in South Korea

10km from the centre of Danyang (단양) city which is well appreciated its beautiful landscape of mystic-shaped rocks in a valley, 2km further from the entrance of the Sajiwon-ni (Sajiwon-ri) village there is a 9 layered rectangular pyramid on the road-cutting slope.

Though the locals call this site as Taejotap (태조탑 = tower for the great founder) or Taejangimyo (태장이묘 = mausoleum of the great founder), each rock which constructs this strange shaped pyramid does not seem to have weathered, so this site seems to be a kind of modern art.

Designated as No. 135 of Monument of Chungcheong-Bugdo province
