Barrow Cemetery in Norway. This site is not located on an edge of a natural river terrace as many of the other barrow cemeteries in Namdalen valley. It is located on a huge flat natural plateau called Brennmoen overlooking Namdalen.

On the plateau it is several huge grain fields and some tight forests is located between the fields.

This site has two separate cemeteries, when I visited the first one, I was kinda disappointed, it was inside a very tight leaf-tree forest and with lots of smaller brush, making it almost impossible to photograph the mounds, I found only two of the total of 12 said to be here.

But when I visited the other cemetery, it is just outside the edge of a large grain field, just where the hills start that leads up to the mountains in the south, I was surprised to find that the site is not covered in tight forest, but only with some scattered trees around and very low forest vegetation on top of the soil. There I could see many mounds, the next one prettier than the last!

All the mounds have very pretty shapes and seems to be undisturbed either by later diggings or plundering. They also have deep and clear ditches around the edges, making them even easyer to photograph.

I could find 3 elongated mounds and 8 round mounds, the round mounds are from 15 to 10 metres across and from 1 to 2 metres in height. The long mounds are from 8 to 12 metres in length and 0,5 to 1 metres in height. The entire are with the farmlands and the forest and mountains is beautiful.
