Ancient Village or Settlement in Svendborg (Fyn South + Langeland)
The area around Gudme had during the Iron Age, the function of a trade center with connection to the Roman Empire and was in a nearly 400-year period, the most important cult and the center of power in Denmark. There are many farms and houses excavated, where gold, silver and bronze smiths worked. Moreover, in 1993 the building of the prince and his warriors were found in years. These were placed around Gudmekongens Hal. The many discoveries can be seen in the museum in Svendborg and the National Museum in Copenhagen. In Gudmekongens Hal in Gudme are display boards.
