Artificial Mound in Norway

Gokstadhaugen, or Kongshaugen (King's mound) is a burial mound near Sandar, kommune Sandefjord, fylke Vestfold, Norway. The excavation that took place there in 1880 revealed a ship burial dated back to 9th century, most probably the grave of Olaf Geirstad-Alf of the House of Yngling.
