Hillfort in Essex

Ring Hill. Littlebury is completly covered by trees and quite inaccessible. It is an oval hillfort between the B1383 and the railway to the west of Audley End. It overlooks the River Cam. Bank, ditch and rampart all damaged and overgrown.

Re: Ring Hill by Anonymous on Monday, 29 September 2003
I visited Ring Hill in a private visit arranged in July by the Littlebury
Local History Group and we were given an excellent reception by the estate
staff in charge of it it, who are very aware of its importance. I think Ring
Hill will be open this year as part of the Heritage open day in September,
so worth going there if you can. Parts of the original ditch can still be
found, I think. There was a report on it done a few years ago. I think there
are plans to open out the trees a bit more to allow it to be seen.
