Ancient Settlement in Mexico. The Maya site of Kohunlich was inhabited from around 200 BCE but most of the structures date to the early classic period of 250 – 600 CE.

The sites most famous structure is the temple of the masks built around 500 CE, The 6 masks which flank the stairway of the pyramid are remarkably well preserved due to the construction of a later temple over them which provided protection.
